27“You have heard the commandment that says, ‘You must not commit adultery.’28But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.29So if your eye—even your good eye—bcauses you to lust, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into chell.30And if your hand—even your stronger hand—bcauses you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into chell.
How radical am I willing to be to avoid sin? Jesus was obviously VERY radical. What do I need to cut out of my life? Are there relationships that are pulling me into sin? Do I watch TV shows I shouldn’t watch? I know some of these decisions are so very hard. Some seem so huge, so life changing. perhaps they are even more important than they seem if we consider “life” to be forever. What can you think of today, that you know Jesus is calling you to cut off? Who?
Lord Jesus, again, open my eyes so I can see what or who You want me to cut out of my life. Open my heart to Your strength so I can actually do what You ask.
