Online Biblel Study: Matthew 12:31-32 Giving God's Glory To Satan

Thomas Less, 03/16/2011
31“So I tell you, every sin and blasphemy can be forgiven—except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which will never be forgiven.32Anyone who speaks against the Son of Man can be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, either in this world or in the world to come.

This is a very difficult verse when it is taken by itself like this.  I copied it below with the prior verses that it goes with so it can make more sense.  The footnote to my Bible probably explains it best: “In the face of the Pharisees’ accusations of Satanic influence, Jesus had just argued that he, the Messiah, cast out demons through the power of the Holy Spirit. In this context, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit can only mean attributing the ministry and exorcisms of Jesus to Satan’s power.”  Taken in this light, this sin would be very rare, and I am sure that is the case.

However, I would suggest that there is something we can learn here.  God wants to be recognized and glorified for His love and goodness.  He is jealous, as the Bible says many times.  It is why He is close to the humble, and opposes the proud.  He wants us to see him for the all good, all loving, all just and all powerful person he is, and give him glory for it.  We should not take credit ourselves for blessings that are God’s and we surely should avoid all other spiritual sources such as horoscopes, terra cards, etc. etc.

Holy Spirit, please move in my life, and make me bold enough to give you credit for all you do for me and with me.  Continue to humble me so I can be closer to you, and used by use.  Change me so that all my actions and all my words give you glory. Beginner’s Online Bible Study *obbs*

Any kingdom divided by civil war is doomed. A town or family splintered by feuding will fall apart.26And if Satan is casting out Satan, he is divided and fighting against himself. His own kingdom will not survive.27And if I am empowered by cSatan, what about your own exorcists? They cast out demons, too, so they will condemn you for what you have said.28But if I am casting out demons by the Spirit of God, then the Kingdom of God has arrived among you.29For who is powerful enough to enter the house of a strong man like Satan and plunder his goods? Only someone even stronger—someone who could tie him up and then plunder his house.
30“Anyone who isn’t with me opposes me, and anyone who isn’t working with me is actually working against me.

21At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do. 22“All…

Luke 10: 17-20 Love is more powerful than power

05/15/201705/15/2017

17The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.” 18He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm…

As I look at this reading and I understand that the Holy Spirit is the place we get our wisdom, then when we beleive we know better than God, (we know what God wants but we say we are going to do it our way anyway. Don’t tell me anything else.) Thats what is not forgiven. Wisdom is a little like knowing what are values are and why! Or as one book And/or tape I heard it is like knowing what would make me walk across a 4″ beam connecting two buildings 120 floors up in a 60 mile per hour wind. That means that 4″ beam is probable moving about 8″ back and forth as the wind blows. What would make you walk that beam is a core value to you. When that value is that strong you don’t change it easily. The Holy Spirit is like the keeper of the value’s of God, (The other 2 people of God could use their powers or gifts to solve the problem), but the spirit keeps it so it is for our best chance. Is it when one Blasphemys against the spirit we are doing it to ourself?
