The True Family of Jesus
19Then Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see him, but they couldn’t get to him because of the crowd. 20Someone told Jesus, “Your mother and your brothers are outside, and they want to see you.”
21Jesus replied, “My mother and my brothers are all those who hear God’s word and obey it.”
Can obeying rules really be more important than your mother and brothers…really? Maybe it depends on the rules.
The Most Important Commandment
Matthew 22: 34 – 40 But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees with his reply, they met together to question him again. 35One of them, an expert in religious law, tried to trap him with this question: 36“Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?”
37Jesus replied, “‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’e 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’f 40The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
Holy Spirit give me the courage to love.
