Paul Appears before Felix
1Five days later Ananias, the high priest, arrived with some of the Jewish elders and the lawyera Tertullus, to present their case against Paul to the governor. 2When Paul was called in, Tertullus presented the charges against Paul in the following address to the governor:

2Instantly Ananias the high priest commanded those close to Paul to slap him on the mouth. 3But Paul said to him, “God will slap you, you corrupt hypocrite!bWhat kind of judge are you to break the law yourself by ordering me struck like that?”

15But Jesus knew what they were planning. So he left that area, and many people followed him. He healed all the sick among them,16but he warned them not to reveal who he was.17This fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah concerning him:

28Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.29Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.30For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
