Something you can't forget about

Hosea 14

Thomas Less, 07/19/2010

Hosea 14

Healing for the Repentant

 1 Return, O Israel, to the Lord your God,
      for your sins have brought you down.
 2 Bring your confessions, and return to the Lord.
      Say to him,
   “Forgive all our sins and graciously receive us,
      so that we may offer you our praises.
 3 Assyria cannot save us,
      nor can our warhorses.
   Never again will we say to the idols we have made,
      ‘You are our gods.’
   No, in you alone
      do the orphans find mercy.”

Father, help me come to a true repentance.   Show me my sins and help me see my true guilt.  Help me see the idols in my life and hate them.  Help me hate them so much I never return to them – never.  No more habitual sins.  No more being the dog that returns to his vomit.

 4 The Lord says,
   “Then I will heal you of your faithlessness;

Father, that is exactly what I need.  Change me Father.

      my love will know no bounds,
      for my anger will be gone forever.
 5 I will be to Israel
      like a refreshing dew from heaven.
   Israel will blossom like the lily;
      it will send roots deep into the soil
      like the cedars in Lebanon.
 6 Its branches will spread out like beautiful olive trees,
      as fragrant as the cedars of Lebanon.
 7 My people will again live under my shade.
      They will flourish like grain and blossom like grapevines.
      They will be as fragrant as the wines of Lebanon.

 8 “O Israel, stay away from idols!
      I am the one who answers your prayers and cares for you.

Father, You certainly are!  You are my only hope, my only life.  Please Father, live in me.  Praise You Father.  It is always, and only, You.

   I am like a tree that is always green;
      all your fruit comes from me.”

 9 Let those who are wise understand these things.
      Let those with discernment listen carefully.
   The paths of the Lord are true and right,
      and righteous people live by walking in them.
      But in those paths sinners stumble and fall.

Jesus, keep me on Your paths.  Please keep me in Your ways.  Please Lord, guide me though I am a fool.

Trying To Explain Morality – A Discussion With Bob

11/05/201601/03/2024

Let’s discuss morality a little bit. Where does it come from? Morality discussion outline: Commitment Be open minded to the existence or non-existence of God. Be honest, especially with yourself. Be willing to say the Emperor is naked. Be logical, really. Don’t reject a logical conclusion because it is uncomfortable….

04/11/201601/03/2024

How much evidence would it take to convince you that God exist? Have you ever thought about it? For you personally, is there really any amount? I ask these questions for a reason.  I really do want you to define the answers to those questions. I’ve had these discussions long…
