Johannes_(Jan)_Vermeer_-_Christ_in_the_House_of_Martha_and_Mary_-_Google_Art_Project4But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, 5that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) 6For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. 7So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.

Seated in heaven with Jesus.  Really?  It is so hard to think like that.  Paul doesn’t say “will be”, like its a future event.  He is very much in the here and now with these verses.  And this has happened to us while we were yet sinners.  What the heck?  This radical.  How ridiculously kind and loving is our God?  I admit, I almost want this to not be true because the ramifications are outrageous.

If God did this for me while I was yet a sinner, when do I need to be outrageously loving to those around me?

If I am seated at God’s right hand, why do I worry about anything?

If I am united with Christ, and at God’s right hand, there can be no evil with me.  What do I have to forgive, stop, start and change right now?
