5If anyone has caused grief, he has not so much grieved me as he has grieved all of you, to some extent—not to put it too severely. 6The punishment inflicted on him by the majority is sufficient for him. 7Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. 8I urge you, therefore, to reaffirm your love for him.
Father, You are speaking to my heart. I feel like I know who You are telling me to forgive and to love. I do forgive him and I do love him and I will tell him. I also know that without forgiveness and love, life can be so full of sorrow. Let us not be overwhelmed by our sorrow and Lord, please don’t let anyone be too sorrowful because of my unforgiveness. If there is anyone else I must forgive, please Lord, show. Open my eyes and soften my heart. *2Corinthians2*
