8I am not commanding you to do this. But I am testing how genuine your love is by comparing it with the eagerness of the other churches. 9You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich.
Lord Jesus, it is obvious how truly generous You are. You gave Your very life for me. Help me to be generous, not just with Your possessions that You have given me, but with Your life and Your love an Your time that You have given me and placed within my soul. And Jesus, that second sentence above reveals so much about You and about Your life within us. You became poor so You could make us rich. At one time I would have said that I need to become rich so I can help the poor, but in Your world it is not that way. When in my heart and soul I give all I have to You, and I truly no longer think of my “stuff” as mine, but Yours, then You can use it to make others truly rich…spiritually rich, with Your life. *2Corinthians8*
