8I am not sorry that I sent that severe letter to you, though I was sorry at first, for I know it was painful to you for a little while. 9Now I am glad I sent it, not because it hurt you, but because the pain caused you to repent and change your ways. It was the kind of sorrow God wants his people to have, so you were not harmed by us in any way. 10For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.

Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, always give me a Godly sorrow for my sins.  Please Lord, don’t let me just be sorrow when I am caught, or sorry because of the circumstances.  When I sin, open my eyes to my sin and help me to sorrow because I failed to give You glory and show Your love.  Let me know how my sin effects our relationship.  Let me see how You suffered because of it.  And use that sorrow to change me.  Not just to change my actions but to change me…my heart and soul…so that I hate the sin and turn away from it completely.  And when I turn away from sin I am turning to you, to true life.  Glory and praise to You Lord, glory and praise!  *2Corinthians7*
