5For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. 6If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.
Jesus, I again know that I do not comprehend how intimately we are one with You and one with each other. To think that I share in Your suffering is unimaginable. To think that I share in Your holiness and joy is even harder to imagine. Then to think that my Christian brothers and sisters also share in my sufferings and joy, which are also Yours…It is all too much. Lord, help me to understand our unity, both with You and with each-other. Help me to live knowing my sins effect others, as do my good deeds. Help me to live in such unity with first my wife, then my children, then all off Your body. And lastly Lord, help me to live a life that makes others want to be part of Your body. *2Corinthians1*
